Location: The labeled tree is left of the No. 1 fairway near the green. Another is to the left of the cart path on No. 11.
Tree information: Specific epithet comes from Latin and means to place in an overlapping order, as with tile or shingles.
Size: Large Oak can grow to 80 to 100’ with national champion 105’ x62’.
Growth rate: 1 to 1 ½ feet per year.
Foliage description: Simple leaf often lustrous dark green above and pubescent beneath. Large leaf may be 2 ½ “ to 6” long and 1 to 3” wide. Russet to Red fall color with leaves often persisting through winter.
