Location: The labeled tree is near forward tee on No. 7.  There are others along the No. 6 fairway and to the left of the No. 9 fairway.

Tree information: Member of the Red Oak group introduced in 1691. Slightly more alkaline tolerant than Pin Oak. 

Size: 70 to 100’. National Champion is 119’ x 120’.

Growth rate: Medium

Foliage description: “C” shaped leaf lobes. Brilliant Red fall color.

USDA hardiness zone: 4 to 9

Provenance: The labeled tree was planted with the establishment of the second nine holes in 1951.  The others have been planted since 1970.
